Common questions
Is the Mumble server really free?
Yes. Free servers stay free, with no trial period and no ads.
What happens if my server is inactive?
Servers with no connections for 21 days are recycled. You get a warning email at 16 days. A new server nobody joins within 3 days is removed sooner; we email you at 24 and 48 hours first. You can create a new one at any time.
Can I have more than 15 people?
Currently all servers have the same 15 user limit. This keeps the service sustainable for everyone.
Which Mumble client should I use?
The official Mumble client for Windows, macOS and Linux. On mobile, Mumla (Android) and Plumble work with any Mumble server, including RedMumble.
Can I set a server password?
Yes. Set a password, write a welcome message, create channels and manage permissions, all from your RedMumble dashboard.

In the region closest to you: United States, Europe, Asia Pacific or South America (Brazil).
How is RedMumble different from Discord?
Mumble is open source with much lower audio latency, which matters in competitive gaming. You get a private server with no tracking and no ads. Discord has more features, like screen sharing, but collects a lot of user data.
